RBM Blasting

RBM Blasting

M&K Engineering has a fully validated RBM process in house.

RBM is a process in which implants are sandblasted with a Tricalcium Phosphate media. After blasting, the surface is etched in organic low concentrated acid, leaving the surface clean (no residue particles), without changing the structure of the titanium "pattern". This method allows the surface to reach the micropores of the implant in greater depth than at the classical processing method SLA (aluminum oxide).

Advantages of RBM

  • 1. 100% biocompatible, no pollution. Acid-free roughening of the implant has no residual acid or contamination.
  • 2. Achieves optimal surface texture generation
  • 3. Contribute to accelerated bone attachment
